New Hot Wheels added to my collection

Lately, I have been picking up some of the Retro Collection Hot Wheels.   This last week, I picked up Mrs. Brady's station wagon.

I am debating on opening it.  I really love the whole look of the  packaging.  But,  I am just one of those collectors that loves to touch and feel everything.   The rest of my cars are open, so this one might eventually end up the same way.

I am trying to figure out a better way to display my open Hot Wheels.   But, I just haven't found anything that I like.   I would appreciate it anyone out there shared their display of Hot Wheels.

The last item I am adding to my car collection is something that I have had for a while.   There recently was an auction on Ebay, that I have been obsessing over all week. I wanted to buy it, but that wont happen unless I win the lottery.    The auction was for a Dumbo car!   A Dumbo car from Disney World!   How awesome would it be to own a freakin Dumbo car?    So until I win the lottery, I have to settle for the next best thing.

I have had this little Dumbo car packed away for a while.   I purchased it sometime in the late 90's at Disney World.   I decided that it needed to be displayed with my other vehicles.

I am still looking for the Muppet's bus and Magnum's Ferrari.   There are several cars in the 6th and 7th wave that I know I will want to pick up also.

Moving in the rain and a few fun finds

Well this weekend has been long and we are looking forward to an even longer week ahead.   Saturday, our new carpet finally got installed.   We were able to get some of our furniture moved back in before it started raining  and well, as of typing this, it hasn't stopped raining yet.  So moving in will be a little slower then we had hoped.

A co-worker of mine brought me a little box of Hot Wheels.   I gave my kids most of them, but a few of them I decided to keep.

The 2 Titanium Star Wars vehicles are really nice.   I never got into those when they were in the stores.   But now that I have these 2, I really like them.   Nicely detailed.

The black and red car is Taejo Togokahn's car from Speed Racer made by Hot Wheels.

This is the second plane that I have gotten like the one pictured.   The first one that I got is a greenish blue color and this one is silver.   There aren't any markings on the bottom of them, so I am not sure what company made them.

Some flea market finds: Psycho the Go-Bot, Harley Quinn, and Ecto1

Yesterday, the weather was beautiful thankfully!  After a week of freezing temps and 25 mph wind, it was time for Spring to finally show up.   Of course, everybody had the same idea to head out to the flea market.

Since we had to park in the back, that gave us the opportunity to fortify ourselves with bag of freshly made cinnamon and sugar mini doughnuts as we walked around.     The only item I really had on my list to purchase was a new cell phone case.   Yeah, I know I am cheap like that.  But it gives my phone the opportunity to have a wardrobe.

So we are walking through the rows and I quickly notice that the day was most likely going to be a dud. When you don't see any naked Barbies or the ubiquitous box of Happy Meal toys, you know the pickings are slim.

I did purchase a couple of items from one of the regular dealers.   I know that in the past I have talked a lot of crap about Go-Bots.  They have gotten stereotyped as the Transformers' K-Mart cousins.   Well, they still are.  They weren't the cool kids in the Transformer world, but where was this guy?    Future Machine, aka "Psycho" was introduced into the Go-Bot line.   Thanks to Let's Anime, I learned a little  more about the origin of this bot.     It was originally call "Psychoroid" the passenger vehicle of  the space adventurer Cobra and his sexy sidekick robot companion.    That's who the little people in cockpit are supposed to be.
In car mode, it is a sleek futuristic car.  You would think it would be a little more elegant in robot
mode, but it is really kind of clunky.

All I know is that I need a bigger shelf for my Transformer tribe.  I started out with 2 Transformers that were mine as a kid, and thanks to the Goodwill and now the flea market, I am currently at 17 and counting since January.

My newest collection, which, well.... kind of started this week.... is the Hot Wheels.   I mean secretly, I have always secretly loved Hot Wheels.  But now they are speaking my language by making more famous movie and TV cars.   I am in love with them!  My little collection has jump from one General Lee that was mine as a kid to 6!    Friday night, I found the Mystery Machine at Walmart.   I debated for about 5 minutes on if I was going to open it.   My husband is of the mind that stuff should stay on card.  But for me, I am a tactile person.  I want to touch and feel and play with these wonderful little bits of awesomeness.    Then Saturday at the flea market, I found the Ecto 1, seen here with my General Lee.   I also have several  versions of the Batmobile still on card, that I am going to open and display with these.   Now I have a short list of Hot Wheels that I am looking for.

The last item I picked up makes my fangirl heart skip a beat.  I got a loose Batman: Animated Series Harley Quinn!!  The best part is that she is practically complete.  She is missing her gun, but still has her punching glove.   As an added bonus, Harley came with this little black cat, which goes to the animated Catwoman!!  I love finding those impossible small parts that make my loose figures just a little more complete.

These few little items made my day.

Flea Market Find- Harry Potter, Disney lunchbox, and the batmobile

I thought I would share a few of my recent flea market finds.  I picked these up 2 weekends ago at a flea market up in NC.

The first is a vintage 1976  Disney World metal lunch box.  It is in well used condition.  But I just absolutely fell in love with it.  I should take some more pictures of it. The back has this great graphic of the Country Bears.  The sides depict different rides and dattractions at Disney World.   I paid $8 for it.  I think it will make a great display/storage piece.

The next item I picked up was the  Wizard's Sweets Harry Potter doll.  It is from 2001.  I didn't really start collecting anything Harry Potter related until about 2 years ago.  I picked up a Hagrid and a few other action figure from the first movie at the flea market.    I paid $2 for this Harry.  I love it because he comes with a chocolate frog package and a little frog bracelet that sadly no longer smells like chocolate.   I would love to find the matching Hermione doll.

Lastly, is the Batmobile!   I picked this up at Walmart.  I love Batman and yes, this chick does dig the car.   I recently started picking up the Hot Wheels that are from movies and tv.   I also have the A-Team van and Ecto 1.   I am currently looking for the other versions of the Batmobile and Kitt from Knight Rider.
